If I plug asko in before installing the driver, no “default” driver emerges, it just does not work, is not recognized, etc. Got a new audio interface, Trsck Quad by M-Audio, just updated driver for it and connected it, per the device instruction manual.

So, the problem seems to be between the Quad and my computer, rather than Reaper specifically. Why is it now invisible to my computer’s Sound manager, but not to Reaper, when originally it was visible albeit not working for both? Win 7 SP1 64bit, Guitar Rig 5. When I first installed the M-Audio driver a week ago and could not get it to work with Reaper, I went into my computer’s sound manager and DID see the M-Track Quad as an option for Record and Playback, and I selected those as my defaults as per M-Track instructions, and as described in my original post.


No other pograms opened except iTuens or Chrome.

I’d go and uninstall the M-Audio driver you currently have, and get the correct one for your device. It could be a completely different problem from krm27’s, even though the symptoms are the same.
